Events Confidential: How To Increase Your Productivity By DOING LESS

Learn from event mentorship expert May Yeo Silvers as she shares how to increase your productivity.

We are into the second week of 2021. Have you audited yourself to see how productive you have been? Or you have been saying, “I am too busy”?

At the beginning of the year, you made your resolutions and manifestations. Two weeks into 2021, if you find yourself saying, “I am too busy” to take the necessary actions to fulfill your manifestations and resolutions, then you need to take 5 minutes to ask yourself, “If I really want to grow my event planning business into a 6 figure profit company, why haven’t I done any sales-generating activities in the last two weeks”?

If something is of importance to you, you WILL make time for it. If you find yourself saying, “I don’t have time,” then, you really have to be honest with yourself and tell yourself that what you say you really want, deep down, you don’t really want that much. Because if you did, you would have made that “want” a priority.

How To Be More Productive

So now we have come to the conclusion that you really want to make a 6 figure profit for your event planning company. Let me share three tips with you on how you can be more productive so you can find time to work on achieving your manifestation.

Tip Number 1: Do LESS, NOT more. Sort out your priorities

When we think about being productive, we always assume we need to do a lot more and add more things to our already over-flowing To-Do list.

The reality is, if you ask very successful people, they DO LESS in their day instead of adding more things to their daily life. What separates them from the rest of the pack is these highly efficient people understand what their priorities are and they ONLY work on these priorities because they are the BIGGEST DOMINOES that need to be knocked down in order to move the success needle the fastest.

Once these priorities are fulfilled, it creates a domino effect and the rest of the “other things” become so much easier and often, no longer necessary.

Start listing all the TOP priorities you need to focus on to get to your 6 figure profit goal.

Tip Number 2: Estimate the time needed to complete each of your priorities

Once you list your priorities, you need to estimate the time needed to complete each of these tasks.

For instance, following up with your leads is a priority. Posting content on social media to nurture and engage with your followers is a priority. These two are just examples of tasks you should be doing to grow your business to get to your 6 figure profit goal.

Now, you need to estimate the time you need to complete each task. Let’s assume following up leads take 30 minutes and posting a post on social media takes 5 minutes. Take a look at your list of priorities and start giving each one of them an estimated time needed to be completed.

Tip Number 3: Time block for each of your priorities

Now that you know how much time is needed to complete each of the tasks on your priority list, you need to block the times in your day for these tasks, especially tasks that require more than 15 minutes to complete.

For example, following up leads take 30 minutes. You MUST block 30 minutes in your day, every day, preferably the same time each day, to do that task. Mark that down on your calendar so you do not schedule anything at that particular time of the day.

If you find yourself having an extra 10 minutes between calls/appointments, you know you can use that 10 minutes to do a social media post as it only takes 5 minutes. So go on LIVE inside your social media and share some nurturing content with your followers during that time.

Conclusion

These are the three main tips that will help you become so much more productive and efficient. One last thing you can do is set a weekly goal on which priorities you want to tackle for that week. At the end of each week, do an audit. Did you complete all the tasks on your priorities list? If no, why not?

If you don’t take the time to audit your actions at the end of each week, you have no way to measure your productivity and efficiency. How can you expect yourself to be MORE productive and efficient when you don’t have a clue why the priorities that you listed are not completed?

This is a skill that can be taught and learned. It is not easy and requires a lot of discipline and self-awareness. This is one of the pillars of teaching we focus heavily on inside our Unstoppable Eventrepreneur mentorship program.
