The Mindset You Should Have When Using Paid Leads Platforms

The Mindset You Should Have When Using Paid Leads Platforms

Do you pay for lead services and wonder why most of them ghost you after you’ve given them your price? In today’s episode, host May Yeo Silvers discusses the process of using a paid leads platform and the mindset you need to have.

While using a paid leads platform, it is important to understand the mindset of the people on the other side. Not only is it an efficient way to receive a bunch of quotes, but the potential client has to spend no time talking to anyone. In fact, their only goal is to price shop from several event planners. And if your quote doesn’t line up with what they’re looking for, they will likely not continue the conversation with you. So rather than wasting your time preparing a proposal for someone who is price shopping with 10 other event planners, it’s better to just play the game.

While getting leads off of paid platforms does work sometimes, it is not always a reliable way to source business. Remember to use your social media, go to trade shows, and attend networking events so that you can grow your portfolio organically. Learn more about how to play the game, how Zola differs from other paid lead platforms, and why you should never rely on one way of getting leads.

Quotes

• “It’s not just efficient, they also don’t have to waste time talking to anyone that they don’t want to work with.” (04:35-04:47 | May)

• “The majority of people who are on these platforms are shopping based on price. So their first determining factor is price.” (04:59-05:05 | May)

• “If the price that you quote is not what they are willing to pay, then they won’t even take the time to go to your website.” (05:34-05:50 | May)

• “When you are on these types of platforms, play the game. Don’t get upset when people ask you what your fee is, and then when you tell them, they just disappear. Don’t waste your time sending proposals because they don’t have time to read your proposal. They will only want to work with people who immediately share with them a price that fits into their budget.” (10:09-10:34 | May)

• “You have to be patient. But ultimately, you should always spread your methods of getting leads. You want to be able to get organic leads as well. Which means showing up on your social media, taking part in trade shows and attending networking events. You should never just depend on one way of getting leads.” (17:59-18:20 | May)
