According to May, the first mistake she made was not understanding her numbers. While she had two clients off the bat, she spent all her time planning for them, and not planning for her future. It wasn’t until she completed both of those events, that she realized by not continuously growing her pipeline, she could not afford to do event planning full time. At the end of the day, starting a business is not easy. But with the right knowledge and mindset, you will evolve into the event planner you were meant to be.
